About

ABOUT

Advancements in Structural Biology techniques have progressed at an extremely rapid pace and have allowed us to understand life and its complexities at an unprecedented scale. More recently, Cryogenic electron microscopy has taken the world by storm due to metamorphic advancements in the field thereby allowing us to capture structures of biomolecules that were previously considered impossible by other structural biology techniques. In this symposium, we explore the amalgamation of Cryo-EM with other structural biology and allied techniques. The cryoEM symposium focuses on complex structures with focused sessions on 1) Membrane proteins and Receptors 2) Ribosome Structure and Function 3) RNA Chemical and Structural biology, and 4) Methodology development and tomography (cryo-ET). This symposium, which will take place from the 7th to the 9th of March, 2024, will also have an allied workshop to expose graduate students to the nuances of sample preparation, microscope anatomy, data acquisition, etc. The symposium has been designed in such a way so that through the talks of national and international speakers every aspect of Cryo-EM, can be covered so that the attendees will gain a holistic view of the technique. The symposium will not only help disseminate the latest advances in the field but will help foster fruitful collaboration which will help take forward the field to greater heights.
